Cumbia Lunar’s 5th edition - it’s a psychedelic celebration of dance, visuals and live music featuring the top bands, Dj’s and Vjs of Naarm/ Melbourne’s Latin alternative music scene
with: AMARU TRIBE ft. Ethnodancer Kathleen Gonzalez, THE NEW MONOS, DJ Otorongo (from ISU TAKI Collective) Plus VJ Gabriela Isabel
Cumbia is a music style with roots in Colombia that has become a global movement of which Australia is now part of with Melbourne at the front of this musical wave.
Presented by Vibrating Planet and The Night Cat AMARU TRIBE
Folktronic act, an intersection between cultures through traditional genres from Latin America and contemporary electronic sounds. This will be their last concert of the season after a successful tour around Victoria and Melbourne that celebrated the release of ‘Between Two Worlds’ (March 2022), their latest album which have gained them global recognition and great reviews.
The New Monos
With their roots in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Melbourne-based band The New Monos combine inspiration from their South American heritage and diverse musical experience with the flavor of contemporary Buenos Aires, mixing Reggae, Folklore, Cumbia, Rock, Rumba, Hip-hop and Latin beats, all expressed with the passion of the Tango.
Otorongo
Otorongo (Quechua word for Jaguar): is a music selector based in Naarm (Melbourne), his sets are filled with organic soundscapes, ethnic percussions, and ancient rhythms carefully blended to ensure you feel free to dance.

Multidisciplinary artist & documentalist creating mesmerising psychedelic visuals evoking our land of South America while opening a passage into the land that we now inhabit TIX here.
