AMARU TRIBE RELEASES ITS NEW SINGLE

Amaru Tribe launches its new single and video clip “La Tribu” at BAR OPEN on the 14th of MAY. Presenting a very special show with visuals and the screening of the video clip, Amaru Tribe will take you on a journey of Oceanic Cumbia! The night will be supported by the talented singer songwriter MAJIWA (Kenya) and folk electro sound system GALAMBO (Chile/USA) plus more special guests to be announced. The video clip, directed by Oscar Ascencio, co-written with Ethnodanceology performer Kathleen Gonzales, tells the story of an encounter between a tribe, a mythical spirit (Kathleen G.) and an Aboriginal man (Neil Morris). As part of the film crew we had the pleasure to have the talented Stylist ReciclaGEM by Tamara Leacock, make up artist Rhea Vine and photographer Gabriela Gonzáles. The song “La Tribu” produced by Oscar Jimenez, showcases the unique and powerful sound of Amaru Tribe with special guest Stuart Fergie from OKA on Didgeridoo. This new single marks the inception of a new musical genre in Australia: Oceanic Cumbia (in Spanish Cumbia Oceanica). The combination of contemporary instrumentation and traditional sounds from South America, Australasia and beyond creates the magic of the Amaru Tribe experience. The addition of the charango, the tambora (an Afro-Colombian drum), the Didgeridoo and the Gaita (a Colombian indigenous flute) contributes to the band’s musical intention, also exploring an electronic identity that blends smoothly with its traditional sound without losing the tribal feel of the band. On the visuals we will have the talented Sebastian Avila aka Piece of Light.
